Desire

Searched through every crack on the canyon wall
Climbed every mountain no matter how tall
But there was nothing to be found
I wanted love but it didn’t come
I tried to walk but I had to run
In the direction of a fading sound
Desire is breaking me down, will I ever be satisfied?
When I finally crossed that river I wished I could be back on the other side
All those lonely nights lying in my bed
Yearning for better days up ahead
I wished on every shooting star
Fairy tales and lullabies
I jumped to the air and I tried to fly
But I couldn’t get very far
(repeat chorus)
(repeat chorus)
Bridge:
If I can just crawl down this old dirt road
Instead of sittin’ in a cloud of dust from my spinning wheels
I could see each flower on the blooming trees
And I wouldn’t miss the sign that’s been facing me all along
(repeat chorus)
